Thank you! I just turned 50 and would like to continue to work and have a decent quality of life. I am anxious about my future. I know I am in the active phase but I don’t know how much longer I have in this phase. I am concerned about the length of time and the damage that can be done. I have been told that with Tepezza I may be trading one set of issues for another. So……. I am not sure what to do.

This is a common concern when considering Tepezza treatment. While steroid infusions can help reduce inflammation, Tepezza (teprotumumab-trbw) is specifically FDA-approved for TED and works by blocking proteins involved in the disease process. It can be particularly effective for treating moderate cases before they become severe.

If you're currently on steroid infusions but want to be proactive, discussing Tepezza with your doctor is a reasonable next step. Steroids are typically used for shorter periods due to potential side effects like:

- Mood changes
- Sleep issues
- Blood pressure changes
- Increased blood sugar

They can help determine if transitioning from steroids to Tepezza would be beneficial in your specific case.

Remember that treatment decisions should always be made in partnership with your healthcare providers, who can evaluate your individual situation and help weigh the potential benefits against any risks.
