I visited 3 doctors here and all of them recommended Tepezza , which after the treatment I’ll need surgery (!?) I do not want Tepezza .
I did do Tepezza, it was one of the only treatments that actually reduced the bulging and blocked tissues from swelling. I did have hair loss, and some hearing loss with the infusions. My hearing is almost back to normal now and my hair did grow back. I didn’t experience anything else. It was also not curative. It just reduces the bulging of the eye and tissue swelling/ptosis. The docs wanted to reduce swelling/inflammation as much as possible before surgical options were considered. Look for an oculiplastic surgeon or an ophthalmologist that has done many of these surgeries. Worth it!
10 years ago I had the same problem on my left eye. I got surgery, it was great and back to work in 1 week without side effects. Tepezza has a lot of side effects, that is just one reason why I didn’t wanted.
For TED surgery, you'll want to specifically look for oculoplastic surgeons and strabismus surgeons who specialize in treating thyroid eye disease. Oculoplastic surgeons focus on surgery around and behind the eyes, including soft tissue and eyelids, while strabismus surgeons handle eye muscle surgery if needed for double Show Full Answer
